Validity of Khorasan Steel Co.’s EnMS Certificate Extended

Validity of international certificate on Energy Management System (EnMS) for Khorasan Steel Complex with new version ISO 50001:2018 was extended for another three-year term.
Head of planning and technology of Khorasan Steel Complex announced that the fifth assessment of the company was held for extension of the certificate for another three years. The assessment was held based on the performance of the company and by two auditors of SGS Company on October 12-13. The auditors, after fully inspecting the company and verifying that in terms of standard requirements, no diversion has been seen in the company from the standards, approved the extension of the EnMS certificate based on ISO 50001:2018 for Khorasan Steel Company.
At the end of the auditing session, the CEO of the complex Dr. Ghafoori emphasized efficiency in energy consumption for improving efficiency in production, adding that in the exploitation field, some issues related to energy should be taken seriously because lowering energy consumption will help environment and it will also reduce the final cost of the product. He reiterated that paying attention to energy consumption should be one of the social responsibilities of the company.
He also expressed his gratitude for presence of SGS Company’s auditors and heads of cooperation of exploitation and planning and technology departments for this achievement, announcing that the steel-manufacturing unit No. 2 of the company will join to the assessment process for getting standard certificate.
